3 Tips For Getting Better Sleep  

As many as three out of four adults admit that they are perpetually tired. If you’re one of those people that would like to get a better night’s sleep, then you’re definitely not alone. However, wanting to get a better night’s sleep and actually getting one don’t always go hand in hand. 

There are all sorts of factors that can negatively impact your sleep and leave you feeling more tired than ever. While you may not be able to eliminate all the factors that affect whether you get a good night’s sleep or not, you can reduce your chances of waking up exhausted. Take a look at some of the best tips out there for encouraging a good night’s sleep. 

Create a Schedule 

Our bodies thrive off of routine. When you wake up and go to sleep at the same time every day, then your body will start to adapt to that rhythm. If you have issues going to bed early at night, then you should consider waking up earlier in the morning. The sooner that you wake up and get your routine started, the more likely that you are to get tired earlier in the evening. 

Wake up early, drink your coffee, shave your face, and do whatever you need to do to get your day started off on the right foot. The faster that you start moving early on, the more active that you’ll be throughout the day, which will result in being tired when it’s time to go to bed. 

Eat Healthy Foods 

Although you may not like to believe that there is a connection between the foods that you eat and your quality of sleep, unfortunately, there is. The heavier foods you eat, the harder they are to digest. When your body is busy digesting, it makes it more difficult to enter a deep sleep.

Pay attention to what you eat before you go to bed. Ideally, you should have eaten nothing for at least an hour before bedtime.

Avoid Alcohol 

Although some people might swear by a glass of wine helping them fall asleep faster, the truth is that alcohol insert inhibits your ability to enter a night of deep sleep.  Alcohol may help you fall asleep faster; however, it makes it much more difficult to stay asleep. 

Most people who have even as little as one or two glasses of wine before bedtime will wake up an average of four times in one night. If ditching alcohol altogether isn’t an option, then consider limiting your alcohol consumption to the weekends. That way, you’ll be able to get a night of restful sleep during your workweek Without having to worry about erratic sleep patterns.
