Why Seeing Your Skin’s Texture Under Foundation is Totally Normal

Since all we see is perfect airbrushed skin in magazines we start to believe that is how we should look when we finish our makeup. Well since those pictures are all digitally perfected this is impossible. As we age we develop lines and wrinkles and we should be proud of those and not feel that we need to have perfectly smooth and flawless skin.

Tips for People With Skin Texture

If you do not already know what skin texture is it is when your face starts to develop fine lines or wrinkles. No matter what you do you will still have these but there are things you can do to improve and soften them.

1.    Rethink Your Daily Skincare Routine

When was the last time you changed your skincare routine? As your skin matures it has different needs than it did when you were younger. You need to make sure that the products you are using are still benefiting you at the stage of life you are in. Make sure the face wash you are using does not foam. The foam will dry your skin out and as you mature you need to hold on to all the moisture that you can.

2.    Hydrate, Hydrate, and Hydrate Some More

As your skin matures hydration becomes more and more important. You want to make sure that your skin is getting all the hydration it needs to remain healthy and avoid premature aging. This also means you need to drink lots of water!  Your body will never have too much hydration.

3.    Do Not Forget to Put On Your Sunscreen

You should use sunscreen every day. This is a huge step many people do not do, but sun damage is the biggest cause of fine lines and wrinkles. If you want to keep your skin texture free you need to remember to apply your sunscreen every day. You can even purchase daily face moisturizers that have SPF built right in.

4.    Invest In a High-Quality Face Oil

You will want to invest in a quality face oil that can double as a primer. This product will help to smooth out the texture in your face while adding another layer of hydration. You will apply the face oil all over your face and lightly massage it until it is soaked into your skin.

5.    Use a Lightweight Medium Coverage Foundation

Then you will want to apply a light layer of foundation and blend it well. If you go too heavy with foundation it can start to become cakey in the areas of your face that have texture. This is why you will want to just use a small amount.

6.    Finish With a Setting Spray

The final step will be to seal your foundation with a setting spray. Skip using a setting powder because the powder can set in the fine lines and creases. If you use the setting spray, you will get a better result than using the powder.

Time To Reevaluate Your Whole Beauty Routine

Every few years you should be looking at your beauty routine and making sure that it still feels all your needs. As your skin ages, it will change and have different needs. Remember that you need to make sure that you are hydrating your skin effectively. Make sure that every stage of your routine is looking moisture into your skin.

Now it is time for you to start looking for the perfect skincare products for you. As you shop make sure you are doing your research so that you only end up with quality products. Get started shopping today so you can be confident that you are doing your best to take care of your skin every day.
