How Antidepressants Can Ruin Your Natural Serotonin So That You Can Never Be Happy Without The Pills
Although it’s scientifically proven that antidepressants are dangerous, their use has skyrocketed in recent years. The health experts in the US and the UK are really concerned about the use of antidepressants in both countries, and express their worry that this trend can lead to a “public health disaster”. Although the pharmaceutical industry claims that prescribed antidepressant are safe to use and non-addictive, the researchers found that common antidepressants are really addictive and can intervene with the brain’s activity to produce serotonin.
After stopping the use of depressants, most people experience withdrawal symptoms, such as difficulty sleeping, vivid nightmares, anxiety and memory problems. These symptoms can last for a few weeks and even months. Some antidepressants, such as Prozac, which are selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, raise the levels of serotonin, by blocking a compound that gets rid of serotonin. After a couple of weeks of taking the pills, the brain starts making less serotonin. This might be the reason why people experience withdrawal symptoms after they stop taking the medicine.
Evidence shows that the brain may not be able to return to normal levels of serotonin production for months, even years after the medicine have stopped being taken. The University of Liverpool, conducted a study of 1800 people from New Zealand who were prescribed antidepressants, and they found that more than 50% of the people suffered from psychological symptoms when they stopped taking them. Antidepressants can make the existing condition worse and even trigger other mental disorder.
“Some studies have shown that over the long term, people are more likely to have a depression relapse if they are taking antidepressants than if they are not. The medicines might also be contributing to the rise in bipolar disorder, in which people have alternating cycles of high and low moods. Some studies suggest people are twice as likely to have their first manic episode if they are taking antidepressants.”
Treating depression and other mental problems with pills can be really dangerous and ineffective, but the Big Pharma is hiding the evidence from the public.
When the suicide rates in the US began rising as the same time as antidepressant use, the CDC ( Centers for Disease Control) rejected the connection.
“According to a recently released report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), suicides are on the rise in the U.S. with females between the ages of 10-14 and 45-64 accounting for the largest increases. But with more than 41 million Americans (1 in 8) taking at least one antidepressant, well documented as causing suicidality, the correlation between increased psychiatric drugging and increased suicides can no longer be ignored. The CDC’s report explains that from 1999 to 2014 the suicide rate increased 24%, from 10.5 to 13.0 per 100,000 of the population. Despite the significant increases, the federal agency provides no insight into the possible cause of the rise in suicides, and although the data is publicly available, the CDC simply refuses to acknowledge the increased use of prescription psychiatric drugs coinciding with the rise in suicides”- from CCHR International.
Natural treatments for depression is far more effective than antidepressants. The Big Pharma is causing more mental health problems than it helps people. Natural methods such as consuming the right foods, natural dietary supplements and exercising, can help successfully treat depression. So before reaching for antidepressants, try to make some changes in your life and focus more on yourself!
